Unlike common perimeter security fencing made of mesh fences and traditional barbed wire or razor wire, High Security Fencing commonly has double anti climbing fencing tops of both twisted barbed wire and NATO barbed wire for enhanced frightening barrier.

A CCTV / camera surveillance system and alarm system are also popularly used in building of a compound high security fencing for prisons and other highly restricted areas.
